Would you like to take on a new strategic role in a global company that operates in an increasingly complex political environment – and play an important part in facilitating business growth? Then we are ready to welcome you into a new role in a dynamic environment where you will have room to grow.
Lead key parts of our Public Affairs and Lobbying strategy
Based in Stockholm, you will join the Arla Sweden Communications team and report directly to the Director of Communications.
Working closely with our Director of Global Public Affairs at HQ in Copenhagen, you will be responsible for managing Arla Foods’ Public Affairs and Lobbying strategy in Sweden: to secure the right to grow our dairy production; to secure the role of dairy in a healthy and sustainable diet; and to secure the free movement of milk and dairy products.
Essentially, you will be a driving force in creating a supportive political environment to enable business growth and you do so by:
- Focusing on developing and delivering stakeholder relations and lobbying programmes to support specific business objectives
- Building and maintaining a strong network with relevant Swedish Authorities and industry organisations
- Supporting the political engagement plans for key Arla Foods executives internationally
Experience from the field where politics meets business
Most likely, you hold a master’s degree in e.g. political science, law or agricultural science, and you have 3+ years of experience working with government or interest organisations – in the field between politics and business. This has provided you with a good understanding of government relations, particularly in the field of agriculture or food industry. Moreover, you possess great stakeholder engagement skills as well as a solid track record of advising senior colleagues on complex political issues. You speak and write Swedish and English effortlessly.
On a personal level, you have the ability to operate and build effective working relationships in a matrix organisation. Analysing complex information and producing coherent briefing papers, you are also able to identify opportunities to advance Arla Food’s agenda and spot risks. It is important that you can deliver against tight deadlines and competing priorities, so being organised as well as action-oriented is essential.

Necessity is the mother of invention, so we have moved to virtual hiring and onboarding processes for most of our recruitments to enable candidates and our recruitment teams to get close while respecting social distancing. If at the final stages of a recruitment, a candidate would prefer to meet in person, we take all the necessary precautions to ensure everyone’s safety.
