Nobia is focused on driving growth moving forward, and Digital will be a key enabler of this. The focus is to create a superior online consumer experience to facilitate the path to purchase. The strategy is driven centrally, and the Central Digital team works in close collaboration with the local business units to drive the digital agenda.
Nobia has developed a common digital platform that is currently being rolled out across the organization, and integrated into a heterogeneous back end environment across the brands. At the same time, new functionality is continuously being added to the platform to ensure that Nobia continue to drive digital innovation in the industry.
About the role
The Platform Development Manager will be responsible for bringing improved structure, consistency and stakeholder management to the development process and projects. This will involve two main areas:
Continuous development process:
Nobia has a continuous development cycle that includes multiple suppliers. Sprint cycles are run in parallel with 2-3 development cycles in progress at all times. We need a highly organized and reliable development/project manager to coordinate and own this process. You will work with the concept owners, technical leads and development teams to ensure best possible outcomes from each development sprint. You will manage the following, always ensuring best business value for Nobia:
– Development team resource allocation and budget
– Timeline for development.
– Ensure communication so that both the business and IT parts of the process are aligned.
– Coordinate between multiple development partners/suppliers to ensure alignment.
– Proactively work with the business, IT and suppliers to ensure requirements are met/prepared correctly and in time for each stage of development cycle
– Identify risks within the development cycle, implement mitigation and escalation
– Track and report on development KPIs
– Understand business requirements and ensure translated into reality through the process
– Proactively improve process and quality
Project Management for Technical Projects:
Nobia run many projects that feed into the development process above. For larger projects we allocate a Project Manager. The focus of the Platform Development Manager would be where the projects have a greater technical focus; this could be a project with heavy integrations to local ERP systems such as a PIM or eCommerce integration/implementation project. Or the management of a central project to implement new automated testing tools/processes.
We would expect once up to speed that the Platform Development Manager should take c.50-60% time on development cycle, and c.40-50% on other IT projects.

– You are very organized, with strong project management skills
– You have good communication skills (written and verbal)
– You can understand technical conversations/concepts, and translate into non-tech language for the business. And visa versa
– You can collaborate effectively with a variety of people/skills from developers to concept owners
– You are a self-starter with the ability to fix problems on your own initiative
– Your focus to deliver should be very strong
– You work well under stressful situations and tight timelines
– You are able to multi-task and balance priorities
– You are interest in delivering business value
Requirements:
– You are experienced in web development process – 3 years minimum
– You have a background as a development manager, and/or experience managing web development projects
– You are experienced at managing and improving processes
– You are experienced at working on multiple parallel technical projects
– You are experienced managing timelines, budgets and stakeholders
– Previously working with IT back end integrations projects an advantage
– Previously working on client side would be an advantage
